bullet  General Notes:

Helen Cerny Putman also has a few stories from her younger days. She said that she remembers going into the tavern and telling Grandpa Cerny that "the girls were ready to go home". Helen remembers that women and children were allowed to go into the taverns. Janet and Anna chose NOT to go into the tavern, so they stayed in the car on Wednesday and Saturday nights until Grandpa was ready to go.

Mary Cerny was more out-going and was friendly with everyone. Mary did a lot of sewing. Shbe sewed little girls dresses and sold them. Helen remembers that the Indians bought them but Helen didn't know how much Mary charged for the little dresses.

Helen thought that Johnny Peterson was always Mary's favorite but then she loved all the nieces and nephews.

Helen remembers Janet Cerny Sattler "finger-waved" everyone's hair, including Helen. Helen said that was a treat to have her hair done by Aunt Janet.
