Johanna Kruchemeier Thurnau

  General Notes:

On February 23, 1867, Johanna was married to Louis H. Thurnau. To this union were born three sons, all dying at an early eage, and one daughter, Mrs. H. C. (Minnie) Van Brocklin of Venus, NE. In 1869 she, with her husband settled on a homestead near Morse Bluffs, Saunders County, Nebraska, and in the spring of 1880 she moved with her family to a timber claim in Logan township, Knox County, NE where she resided twenty-eight years.

Later she moved to Creighton where she remained till the last six months, when she made her home with her daughter. She passed from this world to a far better one on April 4, 1930; her death being due to heart failure.

Johanna married Louis Thurnau, son of M. Thurnau and Dorothea Wichman Thurnau, on 23 Feb 1867. (Louis Thurnau was born on 18 Jul 1841 in Hanover, Germany, died on 2 Apr 1922 and was buried in Creighton, NE.)
