Maria Soukup, wife of Georg, Mother of Wenzel and Andrew came to the US on 26 June 1871 from Bohemia to join her sons Wenzel and Andrew. Her daughters Margaretha and Barbara accompanied her. Her husband Georg and son Johann stayed in Bohemia. They sailed for America on the steamship Mein leaving Bremen and sailing for New York. Son Johann and husband Georg remained in Bohemia.
Husband Georg probably died before 1880 as the census of 1880 listed Maria as a widow.
Georg married Maria Lehanka Soukup, daughter of Martin Lehanka and Barbara Draht Lehanka. (Maria Lehanka Soukup was born on 4 May 1820 in Algramatin N 11, Bohemia, christened on 20 May 1820, died on 9 Feb 1901 in Walnut, NE. and was buried in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery- Verdigre, NE.)
