Carl May

  General Notes:

Carl May - a native of Connecticut came to Knox County with his parents Frank May and Mother Theresia 'Cek May who homesteaded southwest of Niobrara. In 1891 Carl started to work in the Niobrara packing house, ran freight to Greenwood and Santee Indian agencies and carried mail to Lynch, NE.

In 1896 he purchased a farm between Monowi and Verdel where he and his wife (Barbara Bren) reared a family of four sons and three daughters: Walter, Edward, Fred, Rosval , Lillian, Elsie and Arvilla. In later years Carl May and Barbara May moved to Niobrara where Mr. May passed away at his home at the age of 75. Mrs May passed away at the Lynch hospital at the age of 88..

Carl married Barbara Bren May.
