General Notes:
Julia Sukup graduated from St. Ludger Academy in Creighton, NE. 1961. She worked in Omaha, NE. as a bookkeeper after high school. Julia was village Clerk of Bradshaw, NE and a bookkeeper at Rasmussen Agri Service in Bradshaw. In Madison, Julie was a bookkeeper at Bob's Service and seven years a bookkeeper for Thermal Design, Inc. in Madison. Julie retired in 2002.
Julia Frances Sukup was nicknamed "Judy" after another cousin was named a similar name to Julia. So Judy answers to "Julia", "Julie" and "Judy".
Julia Frances Sukup Cerny inherited her Mother Wilma Van Brocklin Sukup's genealogy records. Wilma wrote all her records in a little black book. One for the Sukup side and one for the Van Brocklin side. She did have some records with type written pages........Kurka and Hempstead. When I retired from work we decided to put all the records on the computer and share with all families. Julia's son Douglas Clay Cerny is the computer guru who developed a web site and sends our records to the web. The family history contains: Sukup, Van Brocklin, Kurka, Hempstead, Cerny, Pistulka, Nezveda and Humpal families. As of February 2007 there are 3000 names included. The oldest family is the Hempstead family that dates back to about 1600.
Mother Wilma used to tell of the Van Brocklin family coming to New York and at the time the name was spelled Van Brackel...and the story goes that the Van Brocklin family are really part owner of Brooklyn, NY. And then Mother Wilma would say..."but who would want it?"
In 2021....Douglas downloaded an updated Legacy 9 Program that keeps all the families together. Now we are close to 4000 names entered. I have lots of entries for the Legacy Genealogy program to get up to date. . Hope to get all the pictures updated this winter sson. Have a grandson 10 years old and his picture is when he was a baby. Another great-grandson "no picture yet". My "partner in crime"...Father of our kids....and jack of all trades. There was nothing that he couldn't do. The projects weren't 100% in the last few years but I didn't care! Eugene Paul Cerny passed away August 25, 2018. I miss him every single day.
Julia married Eugene Paul Cerny, son of Frank Benedict Cerny and Mildred Helen Pistulka Cerny, on 9 May 1964 in Creighton, NE. (Eugene Paul Cerny was born on 9 Jun 1939 in Burke, SD, died on 25 Aug 2018 in Omaha, NE and was buried on 1 Sep 2018 in St. Ludger Cemetery - Creighton, NE..)
