William (Billie) Frank Cerny

William served in the US Marine Corp 4th Division and retired in 1979 at the rank of Lt.Col.
William and Carol have seven children: William (Bill) Jr, Gregory, Celine, Carla (Sister Teresa Joseph), Angela, Michael and Catherine.

William and Carol retired to St. Mary's, Kansas, where they still reside. William grew up loving baseball. He graduated from University of Nebraska with a major in history. He competed and completed several marathons during his military career and continued running for many years after retirement. He has a passion for Ham Radio, reading history novels and enjoying family.

The photos are William (Bill) and Carol: 1958, and the entire William Cerny family in 2016 at Carol's 80th birthday gathering.

We visited Bill and Carol at their home in St. Mary's, KS. it was around the time of their 50th wedding anniversary. Carol seemed the ultimate in homemaker. She was canning garden things, sewing and had lots of projects going. Had a very nice visit.

Remember Bill being faithful in attending the Cerny reunions that we had in Naper, NE.
We hosted one in Omaha, NE and we were pleasantly surprised that Bill attended along with his brother Beezie (Clement) Cerney. That gathering was in 2013.

William married Carol Rose Neuhalfen Cerny on 25 Oct 1958 in Laurel, NE. (Carol Rose Neuhalfen Cerny was born on 19 May 1936 and died on 13 Jan 2024.)
