James Edward Klosner

James E. Klosner owned champion horses at Ak-Sar-Ben, the former racetrack in Omaha. Klosner, 70, died from cardiac arrest. He owned two horses that were named champions of the year in 1988 at Ak-Sar-Ben. "No More Cash" was the top 2 year old, and "Fast N Ahalf" was the best 3-year old that year. Klosner's two prize horses combined for 17 victories through their first 66 starts. They had combined career earnings of about $500,000.
Klosner, who lived in Bellevue the last 10 years of his life, was a Nebraska native. Born in Bloomfield and raised in Omaha, he graduated from Creighton Prep in 1952. After attending Conception Seminary in Missouri, he transferred to Creighton University where he earned a degree in history.
