Newspaper article: Funeral services for Leroy C. Hodges, retired tourist court operator, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Behrens Mortuary with Rev. Rew Walz officiating. Burial is to be in the Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Presbyterian Church.
Hodges died of a heart attack Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of the Safeway Store on West St. Joe St.
Born Sept. 24, 1873 at Clayton, IA. Hodges came to South Dakota in 1909, when the city of White River, SD was founded, and there opened a hardware store. He was married to Frances Brooks at Winner, SD in 1921. The couple moved to Rapid City in 1932 and established the Hodges Tourist Court from which they retired in 1949.
Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Hope Hodges, Chicago, IL. and a nephew who was raised by the Hodges family, E. T. Brooks also of Chicago.
Mother Wilma and sisters called "Leroy Hodges" Uncle Roy.
Cyrus married Frances Brooks Hodges in Mar 1921.
