Guillame de Lorimier soon distinguished himnself, and only a few months after his arrival in Canada was made a lieutenant of a naval detachment, on the 5th of March 1685. He remained in Canda in spite of the departure of his father for France.
On the 27th of January, 1695, at Champlain, Guillaume deLorimier esquire, Lord of the Border, in Gatinois, Captain of a detachment of the Royal Navy, son of Guillaume de Lorimier, esquire, Lord of Boyne and of Jeanne Guibault, of Paris, France.
M. de Lorimier came to establish himself with his family at Lachine, near Montreal, and occupied up to his death the important post of commandant of Fort Rolland.
