Julia Lavinia Kurka Sukup

  General Notes:

Funeral services were held for Mrs. John (Julia) Sukup, 83, of Creighton on Monday, February 24, 1975 at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church in Verdigre, with Rev. Edw. Scbad and Rev. Charles Oborny officiating. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Verdigre.

Pallbearers were Marlin Carrell, Raymond Sukup, Larry Sukup, Walter Sukup Jr., Jerry Hoffart and Gene Meyer.

Julia Sukup was born April 4, 1891 to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kurka of Daheville. On April 18, 1910 Julia married John Sukup and dthey lived on a farm in the Walnut Community until they retired to Creighton in 1972. She was a member of St. Ludgers Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Theresa both of Creighton.

Survivors are three daughters Mrs. Kenneth (Rose) Carrell of Creighton, Mrs. Alphonse (Julia) Riibi of Hartington and Mrs. Leonard (Delores) Meyer of Appleton, MN.; three sons, John Jr., of Creighton, Walter and Adolph of Verdigre; 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, three sisters and several half sisters and brothers.

Julia married John William Sukup, son of Andrew Sukup and Mary Sedivy Sukup, on 18 Apr 1910 in St. Wenceslaus Church- Verdigre, NE. (John William Sukup was born on 9 Jan 1882 in Verdigre, NE, died on 26 Jun 1958 in Creighton, NE and was buried in Catholic Cemetery - Verdigre, NE.)
